Regretfully, the US version of
Life on Mars aired it's last episode tonight.
Lasting a scant 17 episodes, this show did have a devoted, albeit small following. A tip of the hat to the cast and crew that made
Life on Mars a gem in the forgettable 2008/9 tv landscape.
Back to the show, among my friends, tonight's ending drew a line between those who loved and hated it. I suspect the British version of "LoM" may have met the same sort of love/hate criticism.
However, there was more love for this show on the other side of the Atlantic. The BBC is now airing a
Life on Mars sequel -
Ashes to Ashes (which can be seen on BBC America). And, if you catch the first episode of "A2A," you'll find out more about the BBC's "LoM" Sam's life after
Life on Mars.
I will not spoil the ending - though if you're a fan of the Brit version, you'll be surprised at how it's American counterpart chose to end its series. You may be able to watch "LoM" episodes online - check
www.abc.go.com. Look for the free episode banner/click and enjoy the handful of shows while you can. And I'm sure there may be other online outlets that may offer more episodes.
So as the sun sets on
Life on Mars, there's some great news . . . unlike my other favorite tv show
Journeyman, there will be a
Life on Mars DVD set! Look for it to be released in September 2009! It's already on my Amazon.com wishlist!
