Colbert to CBS' Late Night

In what is a stroke of programming genius, Stephen Colbert will helm the late night slot being vacated by David Letterman. Viewers familiar with Colbert's antics will see this as promotion to a big boy network. But, it's more than that... in a risk averse tv environment, Colbert fills an edgy, proven talent ready to take on Kimmel, Fallon, O'Brien and Hall.

Colbert's fans will follow him. Those who don't know him will be reminded of Letterman in his prime. Sharp witted, attuned to social commentary, Colbert is a inspired choice. It's alleged that Letterman was part of the selection process.
